About Customer

Skyla is a forward-thinking travel and tourism provider that aims to revolutionize the trip planning experience through the use of AI. To address growing customer demands for more intuitive and personalized planning, Skyla developed Skyla AI—an intelligent travel assistant designed to simplify and automate itinerary creation. Initially launched as an internal tool to support travel agents, the long-term goal is to expand Skyla AI into a scalable B2C platform that provides travelers with customized recommendations for destinations, flights, accommodations, and activities—all through a conversational, AI-driven interface.

Customer Challenge

Before implementing generative AI, Skyla relied on manual trip planning methods that were time-consuming, inconsistent, and difficult to scale. Creating a single travel plan could take up to three hours, often requiring detailed research, budget alignment, visa eligibility checks, and formatting—all of which placed significant demands on staff, particularly junior or rotating team members. This inefficiency posed a serious bottleneck to growth, delayed the launch of Skyla’s consumer product, and introduced risks in plan accuracy, customer satisfaction, and operational cost management. The company needed a more automated, intelligent system to streamline the planning process and ensure scalability across both internal and external use cases.

Solution

White Stork partnered with Skyla to implement Skyla AI, a generative AI-powered assistant built on AWS. At the core of the solution is Amazon Bedrock, which provides access to state-of-the-art foundation models such as Anthropic’s Claude 3.5 Sonnet. The assistant uses natural language understanding to engage with users, gather their travel preferences, and deliver personalized, real-time itinerary recommendations. Amazon DynamoDB was used to store user profiles, preferences, and planning history, enabling low-latency responses and a seamless user experience. The system integrates with live travel APIs and is designed with a modular architecture that supports future enhancements and public rollout. This allows Skyla to reduce planning time, standardize output, and ensure traceability across all user interactions.

Results and Benefits

Since launching Skyla AI, the company has achieved more than a 50% reduction in average planning time, significantly improving operational efficiency and allowing agents to focus on higher-value tasks. Automation has minimized manual research and documentation, resulting in more consistent, accurate, and scalable itinerary generation. Customer satisfaction improved thanks to the assistant’s ability to provide fast, tailored travel suggestions based on real-time inputs. Internal team onboarding was accelerated, and the foundation was laid for a future B2C offering without requiring major architectural changes. By leveraging AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock and DynamoDB, Skyla was able to build a flexible, production-ready AI solution that transforms travel planning into a streamlined, intelligent experience.
